Summer in Fall

The Netherlands, this is that one day of the year that we should all enjoy.

Autumn is well on its way and the cold kicks the tendency to stay seated behind glass forward. The adjustment to the new season forms a tiny depression for which summer will be missed. Though the dryness of fall extends her true colours. Her divine appearance waves a beautiful death for winter is watching from afar.

Brown, red and yellow are the new grey. Trees are bolding and its leaves rain down like tears, or hairs unable to hold on to its scalp. Still there is that one day where summer offers her last farewell. Temperatures are rocket high, and life once again highlights smiles on people’s faces. Even those strolling to work against their will, enjoy the last day of summer. Soon it will rain and cities will turn into swamps. Then, we must be patient and wait for the temperatures to plummet far enough for our world to be covered in white mystery.

Undergoing construction

This blog is undergoing some changes. ‘Grey is Colour’ was born with the urge to drop life onto a digital interface, creating a cluster of words, images and videos. Though a semester has past and Grey’s colours have been reorganized, and it delivered an understanding of its own thoughts. “I am now a life of my own”, it screams.

Have you ever felt like dreams are so close that they can be touched? It is impossible to draw an image of something you cannot see, but at least its frame can be described.

This video is another one of my intermissions. New blogs in existing categories will be improved like birds finally understanding the use of their wings. New categories are revealed, like ancient artifacts, that have only recently been found. Still the old material will not go out of style, as without their teachings the significance of new would be non-existent.

The following video should be seen as a form of inspiration to those just tanning at the beach. Get off your towels and be creative!

The world is big

The world is always bigger than it seems,
Even when all is conquered, not all world’s in the same world are seen.
Blindly we follow the path that is yet to unfold,
Afraid of what is ahead, still we don’t want it to be told.

So we continue to ignore the signs,
Things that can benefit us we leave behind.
Lets dare to live our dreams,
Just like any other day, they are not what it seems.

The world is big

Photoshop Experiment

There I go using Photoshop. Figuring out ways to use the program ended up being one big epic fail, but the result of this profound experiment (I think) is worth showing! That is to say that putting your mind to something and still completely failing, does not mean the outcome it is necessarily all that bad.

Side note: Absolutely everything that is seen image is taken from random pictures shot over the last year.

Arrow of Time

This morning is no more than ordinary. Taking the usual steps to get through another day. Scared of becoming to understand the bus driver’s schedules, I interrupt my thinking patterns with thoughts from the past, dreams of my future, and plans on how to get there. Even though my ideas are so bright, my arrow of time seems to stretch further. Jumping over the wall in front of me, only to find another on the other side. We perceive the world as naïve realism, does that mean that I create my own fences? In that case where is the line drawn, if there is a line at all? Perception is formed through thought patterns, thus to draw the map of my future, past and present, I must disrupt these arrangements and change my way of thinking. It cannot be completely out of this world to say I can live three different lives if I perceive it as such. The past is lived and done with. So if I say goodbye in the present I mean see you in a different life!

It would save me from these tangled thoughts of time, what would it be like to live a goalless life, accepting patience and waiting in line? I could finally read myself as a book, perceive my morning rituals as a hook, to continue enjoying this story of mine.

Fall in the Mist

The Netherlands, I had forgotten how beautiful the world was until I opened my eyes on my way to work.

The following images I captured are of two parks that I walk through every morning to start my day.

Fall truly allows the world to cover itself with a unique blend of colours.

What do You desire?

My weights have been lifted,
The sun shines its joy through the rain
The rampage has shifted
The grim, gruesomeness of negativity wont be back again

Tired of emotions
99% done
I am not on a mission
This is not a battle that is lost or won

Still the sense of achievement will come
When the checklist is completed
Burnt, beaten to blackout and numbed
Destroyed and defeated

When I get there, my desire
Once my horizon shifts my days into nights
Cut through the rubber to find the copper wire
Fix it to shine Your light

I will…
